Delete user accounts
General
- When an account is deleted:
- The user profile in the CRM will be deleted and no longer be accessible through Console.
- The data that will remain (in CRM, analytics, data exports) is limited to non-Personal Identifiable Data (PII), which includes: UserID (long unique string), viewing data, billing data etc. This is so that you have a anonomysed view of historical data for users.
- The user login/email will be changed to deleted@magine.com, but will still have the UserID available.
- Recommendation: check other platforms, and ensure that any PII data is deleted from 3rd party platforms (Mailchimp, Mandrill, Google Analytics or other platfoms you are integrated into)
- If the user account contained payment information, the data is still stored in your payment provider's database which you might need to keep longer depending on the accounting rules of your country.
Account deletion - Console
- Console > User > User Profile > DELETE button
- The user will immediately loose access
- If there is a subscription through Web Payments, there will be no further web payments taken from the account.
- If there is a subscription through Apple, Google Pay, Roku, Amazon Fire In App Purchase - the user must be notfied to access their In App Purchase account, to delete the subscription. This is only possible if the end user does this.
Account deletion - BY THE USER through apps for Google and Apple
- Apple and Google require that all apps that allow account creation also can handle account deletion.
- If account creation is enabled via Console in Android, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire TV Mobile & TV Platforms, there will also be a button in the account settings page to initiate the account deletion.
The user can find it by clicking on:
- Settings
- Show my current offer
- Delete account
