Open Service and Closed Service
In our platform, you can decide if your streaming service is closed or open for logged-out users.
Open Service
If you use the open service setup, potential customers can access your service without logging in. They can see
- what content do you offer
- how you are selling the content (subscription, rental, day passes, etc.)
- how much it costs
As soon as the customer wants to watch the content she needs to create an account and pay for it.
Especially, if you start a streaming service from scratch Open Service can make it easier to build your brand and get the first users interested.
Open Service is available for:
- the web
- Android and iOS mobile apps
- Smart TV apps (from version 4.9.0)
Closed Service
If you decide to use the closed service setup then potential customers can access your service first after they have created an account.
The decision to create an account and pay for the content fully relies on the information you give on your landing page. You will need to explain very well what content you offer, to which price and how long a customer gets access to it.
Closed services often use free trial periods or promotion codes to convince customers to try the service.
