north2north mobility grants
north2north is the mobility program of the University of the Arctic. It aims at supporting and facilitating student and staff mobility between member institutions.
Universities and colleges throughout USA, Canada, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, France, United Kingdom and Australia participate in the north2north program.

They also provide courses that are specifically northern focused.
The program is organized as an international network consisting of north2north Institutional Coordinators, National Agencies (NAs) in Canada Finland, Norway, Sweden and Kingdom of Denmark, one International Coordination Office (ICO) and the UArctic Vice-President Mobility. This network organization encompasses a diversity of national and institutional principles and priorities within the framework of the overall program goals and guidelines.

Students and staff participating in a north2north exchange can apply for a north2north grant according to the following table:

USA, Iceland, France, United Kingdom and Australia have no national north2north funding for the time being.
By joining north2north, institutions would benefit from the advantages to be able to go on exchange to another north2north institution without any requirement of additional bilateral agreement (except for Denmark where National Law requires a bilateral agreement).

Participation in north2north is possible when the following requirements are met:
- The whole Higher Education Institution must be a member of UArctic
- A north2north institutional contact must be appointed. The north2north institutional contact should have experience in working with international student mobility.
- A fact sheet with information for exchange students must be submitted: this fact sheet will be published on the webpage of your institution member profile on the webpages of UArctic.
- Each institution that is a member of the north2north program contribute by offering to the program each academic year at least one semester-based tuition fee waiver for an incoming exchange student coming from another north2north institution (a tuition waiver covers tuition fees for credit courses at a Higher Education Institution for one semester. Travel costs, living costs, health insurance and accommodation are not included in the waiver and each student must provide own funding to cover those costs).
- Each participating institution must sign the Agreement for Multilateral Exchange between the University of the Arctic and all north2north Member Institutions.
